Since 1957, the NYF Advertising Awards has been one of the most respected and competitive international competitions around. Our mission statement is simple. We facilitate a fair competition where creative work is judged by two different world-class juries of industry peers. These juries decide what is worthy of an NYFA Tower: an industry-accepted imprimatur of excellence in execution, craft and creativity.

FEDE GARCIA - Global Chief Creative Officer, BCW

We’re honored and excited to introduce Fede Garcia as the Executive Jury President in the return of a REAL NYC jury.  That’s right, face-to-face, in-person judging returns with an all NYC-based group of creatives. They will sit together and discuss your work without competition for their focus and attention from cats, kids and the kitchen sink.

Fede’s work has been recognized by the Cannes Lions, D&AD, One Show, Clios, Effies, and London International Awards among many others, and it has been featured in news outlets around the world such as USA Today, The Washington Post, The Mirror, The Independent, Fox, People Magazine, Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Business of Fashion, Business Insider and many more.

The pandemic accelerated a deep dive, mainstream awareness into the world of “bits”, opening up new “real estate” for culture and business to capture (or be captured by). NYFA ‘22 introduces a new category group for the head spinning adoption, education and innovation being done in this new frontier.

Atoms and bits, culture and consciousness. Who’s digging for (digital) gold and who’s selling the shovels in the future now.  

This category group is for interesting, meaningful, bespoke use of technology to provide experience and/or innovation leading to a better consumer experience. 

 

the Hell’s Kitchen
Award Category

PRESENTED BY E-Z WIDER

For the 2022 Advertising Awards, New York Festivals will introduce a new category group called “Hell’s Kitchen”. This category group, like NYC’s Hell’s Kitchen, through time immemorial, will celebrate advertising around legalized vices, specifically, gambling, cannabis, and alcohol work.

This specialty category group will be sponsored by E-Z Wider rolling papers and judged by a world class group of creatives presided over by former North American CEO of Havas Creative & Current President & CMO of Republic Brands, Paul Marobella.

 

SEE HER Lens award

Our partnership with the FQ/ANA continues for the second year. All entrants will have the ability to opt their entry into competition for the See Her Lens Award where it will be evaluated based on the GEM criteria to honor best-in-class creative film work that exemplifies gender equality and accurate portrayals of women and girls in advertising.

A genius is potent not only for the change and innovation they can personally create in the world but also for the state change and action they can inspire in others. The Genius 100 Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that supports impactful humanitarian and environmental initiatives around the globe. Its 100 Visionaries, including 16 Nobel Laureates and many highly decorated international global leaders, are the corner-stone of the G100 community - a spirited, productive collective entity that continues to evolve and flourish - celebrating imagination, innovation and exploration, and harnessing the positive and purposeful impact they can have on our world. Work entered in this category is not only creative, but has that ineffable genius quality that inspires action to create impact. Judged by 3 members of the incredible Genius100 collective, entrants must show the jury the objective, strategy, tactics and results of their effort. Entry fees into the Genius 100 Inspiration Award category will be donated to the Himalayan Cataract Project.

What Makes NYF Special?

To be eligible for the 2022 competition, entries must have been published or aired between January 1st, 2021 and May 6th, 2022. Entrants must be able to show proof of media buys if requested.
